The opportunity was taken at the AGM of the society to honour the contribution of two long-time contributors to the society, namely Steve Bowden and Steve Barr. Both were elected Life Members of the society for their outstanding contribution to refereeing.
Steve Bowden has relinquished the post of Hon Secretary after fifteen years, but still remains, importantly, as International ‘Ticketmeister’. Steve Barr was recognised not only for his work over many years as SRUSR Appointments Secretary, but also as Chair of the West Midlands Federation and, more recently, for his work with the RFU.
Steve and Steve were each presented with a solid silver Staffordshire Knot lapel badge created by Leek-based silversmith Jackie Harold (www.jackieharold.com).
